For years, the idea of an electric motorcycle has been seen as nothing more than a fantasy. However, that is about to change. While the NAWA Racer might not be the first electric bike to be produced, it’s the most exciting of all the prototypes out there. Developed by French geniuses NAWA, this new bike is going to be very much a choice for the eco-riders out there.
The bike comes with a very sleek and eye-catching design, and reminds us of something you’d see around 1960s London. It’s fresh, it’s unique, and it comes with a very modern design inside. It’s expected that the NAWA can deliver about 93 miles per charge. However, this could last for as long as 187 miles without needing a recharge if you are driving around the city. This is because it uses regenerative braking systems that produces a mass amount of power. With around 4/5ths of that power being used for powering the bike, too, this is as self-sufficient as bikes are likely to come anytime soon.
That’s outstanding, and the ultracapacitor will be working alongside lithium ion batteries. This delivers a unique level of performance, then. One that we haven’t seen any time before.
For electric biking enthusiasts, then, the future might just be about to arrive. While the NAWA won’t be on the streets anytime soon, it’s performance at the CES 2020 was one that brought the house down.
It can even reach around 80% of a full charge within just an hour. By ensuring you aren’t waiting around for a recharge, this is the bike for busy people of the future. Speaking about the new ride was Ulrik Gape, the CEO of NAWA Technologies. NAWA Technologies’ next-gen ultracapacitors have unleashed the potential of the hybrid battery system — and this design of powertrain is fully scaleable. There is no reason why this cannot be applied to a larger motorbike or car or other electric vehicle. What is more, this technology could go into production in the very near future.”
So, it sounds like a very exciting project indeed. While it might be some time before we find out the full potential of the NAWA Racer, it looks outstanding indeed.
